Environmental education and stewardship
Bonnyvale Environmental Education Centers mission is to foster experiences that inspire connection to the natural world and its many inhabitants.
Environmental science school programs are offered on location, as well as in local classrooms and the natural area surrounding local schools. All school programs have an emphasis on observation and inquiry, hands-on activities, outdoor exploration, and learning through the scientific process. Our professional development classes are hands-on, comprehensive, and are aligned with NGSS to train teachers and expand the number of children reached. Day camps foster childrens love of nature in a fun, safe, and supportive environment. Campers spend most of each day outdoors, in small groups, exploring the forests, meadows and waters of our 60 acres. Campers investigate the lives of their wild neighbors, learn naturalist skills, explore wildlife habitats, develop sensory awareness skills, venture off-trail, and discover a sense of magic and wonder. Bonnyvale organizes opportunities for the public to learn about and enjoy the ecological community to which we belong. We host and organize workshops and hikes on natural history, conservation, and regional environmental issues for all ages.
