CHAMPLAIN COLLEGE EDUCATES ADAPTABLE THINKERS, DARING CHANGE-MAKERS, AND INCLUSIVE INNOVATORS WHO SHAPE PROFESSIONS AND INSPIRE COMMUNITIES.
UNDERGRADUATE PROGRAM- THE COLLEGE HAS FIVE UNDERGRADUATE CAMPUS DIVISIONS, INCLUDING BUSINESS, COMMUNICATION & CREATIVE MEDIA, EDUCATION & HUMAN STUDIES, INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY & SCIENCES, AND CORE. WITHIN THE UNDERGRADUATE CAMPUS DIVISIONS, THE COLLEGE HAS TEN CENTERS OF EXPERIENCE INCLUDING THE CENTER FOR INNOVATION AND ENTREPRENEURSHIP, THE CENTER FOR FINANCIAL LITERACY, THE LEAHY CENTER, THE EMERGENT MEDIA CENTER, THE CENTER FOR PUBLISHING, THE CENTER FOR SERVICE AND SUSTAINABILITY, MAKERSPACE, THE CENTER FOR MEDIATION AND DIALOGUE, THE DAVID L. COOPERRIDER CENTER FOR APPRECIATIVE INQUIRY AND THE WOMEN'S AND GENDER CENTER. EACH CENTER CONNECTS CHAMPLAIN TO THE GREATER BURLINGTON COMMUNITY AND THE WORLD THROUGH ITS SPECIFIC SKILL SET AND EXPERTISE, TURNING THEORY INTO PRACTICE. THE CENTERS ENTRUST STUDENTS WITH RESPONSIBILITY, ENGAGE THEM IN AMBITIOUS GOALS AND EMPOWER THEM WITH LEADERSHIP QUALITIES, SUCH AS CREATIVITY, CONFIDENCE, INSIGHT AND INTEGRITY. THE COLLEGE CURRENTLY HAS ABOUT 1,800 TRADITIONAL UNDERGRADUATE STUDENTS ENROLLED IN EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS WHICH LEAD TO ASSOCIATE AND BACHELOR DEGREES.
AUXILIARY ENTERPRISES- RESIDENTIAL LIFE AT CHAMPLAIN COLLEGE INCLUDES 20 TRADITIONAL RESIDENCE HALLS AND 9 APARTMENT STYLE HOUSING COMPLEXES, EACH WITH DISTINCTIVE ARCHITECTURAL FEATURES. EACH RESIDENCE HAS A COMMUNITY-ORIENTED ATMOSPHERE. THIS SETTING HELPS CREATE MUCH CLOSER AND LONGER-LASTING RELATIONSHIPS, SOMETHING THAT DIFFERENTIATES CHAMPLAIN. AT CHAMPLAIN, YOU'LL FIND VICTORIAN-ERA MANSIONS WITH CURVED STAIRCASES, CAREFULLY RESTORED WOODWORK AND EXPANSIVE WINDOWS LOOKING OUT OVER LAKE CHAMPLAIN AND THE ADIRONDACK MOUNTAINS. THE COLLEGE HAS ADDED 275 BEDS ON MAIN CAMPUS SINCE 2013 AND ADDED 314 BEDS IN AN ATTRACTIVE DOWNTOWN LOCATION. CHAMPLAIN BELIEVES THAT PROVIDING HOUSING ENABLES THE COLLEGE TO PROVIDE STUDENTS WITH A MORE WELL-ROUNDED EDUCATIONAL EXPERIENCE. THE COLLEGE OPERATES A CONFERENCE AND EVENT CENTER WHICH OFFERS A VENUE FOR SPECIAL EVENTS, MEETINGS AND CONFERENCES. ADDITIONALLY, THE COLLEGE'S BOOK STORE AND FOOD SERVICE IS OFFERED FOR THE STUDENTS (PRIMARILY FOR THE RESIDENTIAL CAMPUS COMMUNITY). AS A RESULT OF THE CORONOVIRUS DISEASE OF 2019 (COVID-19), THE COLLEGE DECIDED TO CLOSE THE RESIDENTIAL CAMPUS EFFECTIVE MARCH 18, 2020. DUE TO THIS CLOSURE, THE COLLEGE ISSUED REFUNDS AND CREDITS TO STUDENTS FOR ROOM AND BOARD CHARGES BASED ON A PRORATED AMOUNT. THESE REFUNDS FOR ROOM AND BOARD CHARGES RESULTED IN A REDUCTION OF RESIDENCE HALL AND BOARD FEE REVENUE FOR THE FISCAL YEAR ENDED JUNE 30, 2020. THE COLLEGE WAS ABLE TO CONTINUE TEACHING AT A SIMILAR CAPACITY THROUGH REMOTE OFFERINGS.
GRADUATE AND CHAMPLAIN COLLEGE ONLINE (CCO)- THE MISSION OF CHAMPLAIN'S GRADUATE STUDIES IS TO PROVIDE CURRENT AND ASPIRING PROFESSIONALS WITH INNOVATIVE PROGRAMS THAT EMBRACE REFLECTIVE LEARNING, EXPAND PROFESSIONAL EXPERTISE, INSPIRE CREATIVE AND CRITICAL THINKING, AND INFUSE THE JOY OF LIFELONG LEARNING. STUDENTS CAN ENROLL IN ONE OF THE FOLLOWING GRADUATE PROGRAMS, OFFERING MASTER DEGREES IN BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION, DIGITAL FORENSIC SCIENCE, INFORMATION SECURITY OPERATIONS, HEALTHCARE MANAGEMENT, EXECUTIVE LEADERSHIP, HUMAN RELATIONS & ORGANIZATION DEVELOPMENT AND EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION. CHAMPLAIN COLLEGE ONLINE (CCO) OFFERS ADULT ONLINE ASSOCIATE, BACHELOR'S, AND MASTERS DEGREE PROGRAMS IN FIELDS WITH HIGH EMPLOYMENT GROWTH. CCO PROGRAMS ARE TAILORED TO THE NEEDS OF AN ADULT STUDENT POPULATION; THEY TAKE INTO ACCOUNT THE VALUE OF PRIOR EDUCATION AND PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCES. CCO ALSO HOUSES THE COLLEGE'S TRUED PROGRAM. TRUED IS A BOLD REIMAGING OF WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT THAT CREATES OPPORTUNITIES FOR ADULTS TO FURTHER THEIR EDUCATION IN CHAMPLAIN COLLEGE'S AWARD-WINNING ONLINE ACADEMIC PROGRAMS AND BRINGS TALENT MANAGEMENT AND FORWARD-THINKING WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT SOLUTIONS TO EMPLOYERS.
