Organizations Filed Purposes:
Haiti Cardiac Alliance works with partners to scale up the availability of life-saving cardiac surgery to all Haitian children and young adults who need it.
Direct surgical matching and travel accompaniment of children and young adults withheart disease. During FY19, Haiti Cardiac Alliance directly facilitated surgery for62 patients, 59 of whom had surgery outside of Haiti.
Patient care expenses. In certain cases, HCA goes beyond a logistical role and takesdirect responsibility for certain aspects of patients medical care. This may include directly financing their surgeries; procuring medicines and blood products;arrangement of medical testing; and nutritional support.
Diagnosis, screening, and follow-up. HCA performs outpatient cardiology clinics atmultiple sites throughout Haiti for patients who need initial diagnosis, check-up,and/or post-operative follow-up. In addition, HCA currently employs Haiti's only full-time cardiac echocardiographer, who sees patients on a daily basis.
