Organizations Filed Purposes: To preserve historic buildings, sites, and other objects of historical, architectural, or cultural significance including, but not limited to, properties listed on the Historic Register.

The organization's first preservation project is the former Moran Power Generation Station on Burlington, Vermont's waterfront. In 2013, a small team came together around the vision of redeveloping the Moran Plant and the vibrant year-round waterfront it would create. With heavy hearts, we will no longer be pursuing that vision with the City of Burlington. New Moran, Inc. submitted its final proposal to the City of Burlington in December 2016 with the support of two outstanding prospective tenants, numerous program partners, hundreds of donors, and an award-winning professional team bolstered by a national leader in challenging redevelopment projects. The proposal earned clear support from the business, nonprofit and philanthropic communities, and while we are deeply disappointed in the outcome, we are unequivocally grateful to the hundreds of community members who have worked, volunteered, and donated over the last four years in the interest in bettering the place we call home.
