Stamp Stampede 2019*We recruited nearly 8,000 new stampers (bringing the total number of stamps sold to nearly 115,000) and we had over 22,000 go to the website to report found bills. *We hosted two decentralized actions -- J21 Stamp-a-Thon and Independence From Money in Politics Day -- where we asked stampers to pledge to stamp. We had over 5,000 people pledge to stamp 613,606 dollar bills. *We participated in the American Promise NCLC conference for the third year in a row and we joined Open Democracy in co-sponsoring Candidates so far have included Democrats Marianne Williamson, Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand, Sen. Tulsi Gabbard, businessman Andrew Yang, Gov. Steve Bullock, former Congressman John Delaney, and Republican former Governor William Weld. Our participation included promotion and tabling at all events. *We published a consistent bi-monthly newsletter and daily content on social media. We tested out monthly calls between the head stamper and different segments of stampers.
Citizens Against Nuclear Bombers 2019* Based in part on that planning and direction from the Board, we embarked on a small campaign in Vermont between February 2019 and June 2019 to test whether or not we could use local basing decisions, combined with the opposition to nuclear weapons, to build popular support for canceling the F35 basing in Burlington. * We recruited over 2,500 Vermonters in four months to sign on in support of our campaign. * We generated dozens of news stories and had at least two major state newspapers (Times Argus and Rutland Herald) editorialize in favor of the campaign. Including op-eds, TV coverage, and print.* We hosted 6 town hall events across the state with audiences ranging from 10 to 200.* We ran a heavy paid media program including billboards, print ads, and digital ads.* We recruited 22 people from across Vermont to join our advisory committee. * We confirmed that there are a large number of people who can be mobilized in opposition to nuclear weapons that are not currently being engaged.
