Organizations Filed Purposes:
To provide research and education on issues of importance to the natural, human, and economic environments of Vermont citizens.
Educational Events: The Spring Conference is VBSR's largest conference with over 300 attendees learning from speakers and workshops on socially responsible business practices. With over 100 attendees, our annual Awards Dinner showcases individuals and companies with leadership achievements that model the triple-bottom-line philosophy. Located in the central/southern part of the state, our Fall Conference draws about 150 attendees and also offers speakers and workshops. Throughout the year, we hold 8-10 smaller networking events in different parts of the state, highlighting different aspects of each host business socially responsible practices.
Policy Education: Through workshops, forums, newsletters and white papers, we help educate businesspeople, legislators, community leaders and other decision-makers about triple-bottom-line policy issues related to business. These issues relate to the economy, environment, sustainable communities, workplace quality and other business issues.
Other programs include The Vermont Conversation, a weekly radio program and podcast featuring interviews with people who are making a difference locally and nationally in the worlds of socially responsible business, politics, education, the environment and activism. Our Changemakers program introduces Vermonters aspiring to create positive change to each other and to those who have already achieved social change through social and business entrepreneurship.
