Disaster Recovery Assistance The Vermont Disaster Recovery Fund's ("VDRF") mission is to "be a fund granting source of last resort to help meet the unmet long term recovery needs of Vermont individuals and families impacted by disasters."
VDRF works with volunteers, federal, state and local officials, and other nonprofit organizations to: 1) coordinate long-term recovery efforts for Vermont families and individuals throughout the state, bringing together the efforts of local and regional disaster recovery groups, 2) coordinate with local governments and disaster-related organizations which provide Case Management through local communities to assist individuals impacted by disasters, 3) allocate resources to assist survivors who need assistance beyond what the Federal Emergency Management Agency, insurance companies, and local recovery funds can provide. The great majority of recovery grants made are 1099-reportable payments to contractors for approved work on damaged homes.
