Organizations Filed Purposes:
The Royalton Memorial Library serves the town of Royalton with free library facilities and library services. The Library seeks to foster awareness and use of its services and resources by the community. It will gather, preserve and make freely available to all members of the community the information that will assist them to: Become more capable in their daily occupations, Keep pace with progress in all fields of knowledge, Become better members of home and community, Enhance their enjoyment of leisure time, Develop their creative and spiritual capacities, Promote personal and social well being, Contribute to the growth of knowledge. The Royalton Memorial Library seeks to identify the needs in Royalton for library service and to provide these services for patrons or to cooperate with other local or state organizations in meeting these needs.
Provide Library Lending services for books, periodicals, DVDs, audio-books, and e-books. Lending services are available at the library, and at the senior meals site in town, and available for home delivery. This past fiscal year there were 6,873 visits to the library - a total 6,102 items (books, DVD's, Audio Books, and Periodicals) were borrowed by Patrons. The Library also provides free reference librarian services both in person and via e-mail and phone.
A total of 177 library programs were held this past fiscal year, with a total of 1964 Library patrons in attendance at these programs. These programs included Preschool and toddler story times, adult reading group, a summer reading program for school age children. These programs encouraged a love for reading and lifelong learning among adults and children in the community.
Provide the public with free access to high speed internet through public library computers and open-access wireless internet. The library has 6 public computers available during business hours and password free Wi-Fi available 24 hour a day. The Library also provided workshops/training's for patrons on use of computers and computer pragrams.
