Organizations Filed Purposes: We serve Vermont cancer patients and their families in a time of extraordinary need by providing financial assistance and support during diagnosis, treatment, and recovery.

THE CANCER PATIENT EMERGENCY FUND IS DESIGNED TO ASSIST WITH THE FINANCIAL NEEDS OF CANCER PATIENTS WHO FIND THEMSELVES IN FINANCIAL CRISIS DUE TO THEIR ILLNESS. THE EMERGENCY FUND SERVICES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO: EMERGENCY FOOD AND SHELTER ASSISTANCE, TELEPHONE AND HEATING BILLS DURING TIME OF CRISIS, TRANSPORTATION SUPPORT IF NEEDED FOR CARE PLAN, MEDICALLY APPROPRIATE SUPPLIES NOT COVERED BY INSURANCE, MEDICATIONS, AND CHILDCARE TO ALLOW A PARENT TO GET CANCER CARE. THE PATIENT CAN ONLY USE THE FUND ONCE PER YEAR AND THE MAXIMUM BENEFIT PER PATIENT IS $400.

A grief counseling workshop provides mindfulness tools for health and wellness to help cope with the difficulties of illness, to support personal healing journey and to learn mind and body practices to reduce stress and anxiety.
