Organizations Filed Purposes:
The organization keeps WV banks apprised of the changes and opportunities in the industry and strives for the advancement, safeguarding, and the preservation thereof, by encouraging the continuation of the dual system of state and national banking which recognizes the autonomy of the states in banking matters; seeking to extend the usefulness and influence of our banking system and the stregthening of our economy through closer cooperation and greater uniformity of action among bankers in West Virginia; promoting new, more versatile and service conscious ideas, better business methods, and high ethical standards through extensive educational programs; advocating and assisting in the enactment of better state and federal legislation for the protection of West Virgnia banks.
The organization seeks to efficiently provide for the educational needs of our member banks, promote legislative action that is in the best interest of the banking industry and state, garner grass roots participation from our member banks, and foster cooperation with other banking trade group constituencies.
The organization monitored laws and regulations affecting its members; represented the banking industry before the WV State Legislature, the U.S. Congress and other state and federal regulatory agencies; and provided educational programs related to the banking industry.
