In 2019, 821 procedures were performed with a physicians order and received a wide array of treatments close to home through BCMHs outpatient nursing department. By reducing unnecessary stays in the hospital, this time-saving service has been very well-received. BCMHs same day surgery area accommodated 611 surgery patients in 2019. Most of these individuals returned home hours after their procedure. Though some were admitted to the hospital for additional care. Other outpatient procedures from the laboratory, radiology and cardiopulmonary departments of BCMH totaled 102,013 in 2019. Wellness programs and primary family care were also provided through the Braxton County Community Health Center where 8,762 men, women and children had their healthcare needs met by qualified providers in 2019. Additionally, 5,074 home-delivered healthcare visits were made to patients through the BCMH Home Health.

The Emergency Department of Braxton County Memorial Hospital provides 24-hour medical care to area residents as well as travelers. With its close proximity to I-79, BCMH has served as the gateway for many strangers in need of emergency healthcare. In 2019, 8,894 individuals were provided with compassionate healthcare from professional physicians and nurses. BCMH continues to comply with medical criteria and resource requirements necessary for designation as a level IV trauma center, thereby serving the community in a very unique way by maintaining this designation. BCMH is involved with a state-wide trauma system which enables good communication and work relationships with emergency medical services and other healthcare facilities. As a small, community-based healthcare facility, Braxton County Memorial Hospital offers convenient accessibility and personal attention. While meeting the healthcare needs of individuals close to home of 325 patient admissions to BCMH in 2019, many received compassionate care at the hands of their own family, friends and neighbors. For some swing bed patients recovering from an acute illness or surgery, an extended stay involving skilled nursing care and physical therapy was warranted. Ancillary services including cardiopulmonary, radiology and laboratory were provided to all inpatients as appropriate.
