The Mission of CASA is to promote and support quality volunteer representation for abused and neglected children in the state foster care system, in order to provide each child with a safe permanent nurturing home. It is our goal to educate the community regarding its responsibility for abused and neglected children and to see to the best interests of the children we serve.
Between July 1, 2019 and June 30, 2020, the Judges from Ohio, Marshall, Wetzel and Tyler Counties referred 238 children who were removed from their homes due to abuse and neglect to our program; another 275 children were still being served by our advocates but removed from their home of origin in the years prior. This is total of 513 children served by our CASA program last fiscal year.
As part of our prevention services, program completed trainings in the community, provided incentives for family treatment court, hosted events for foster parent support.
