Organizations Filed Purposes: The Jackson Hole Wildlife Film Festival(JHWFF) promotes public awareness and stewardship of wildlife species & habitats and an appreciation for the wonders of science, through the innovative use of media. JHWFF encourages production of nature and science programming around the world by providing non-fiction media industry stakeholders with an international forum to conduct business, test equipment, refine production tehniques and celebrate the world's finest nature and science media.

In September 2018, JH Wildlife Film Festival partnered with WGBH and hosted the Science Media Awards & Summit in the Hub (SMASH) in Boston, MA. Over 500 entries competed for 21 awards. More than 100 preliminary judges screened more than 1,250 hours to select the finalists. JHWFF, with a grant from the National Science Foundation, sponsored speakers for the summit. The summit had over 300 attendees.

Leveraging the legacy & assets of its annual industry conferences, JHWFF has created a variety of community outreach programs. WILD Fest is a multi-day public festival with a robust lineup of 30+ free & ticketed screenings/keynote events showcasing award-winning films and conference guests. WILD Fest weekend includes Wyoming's only science festival with 35+ collaborating exhibitors and a classrooms-only day serving 1000+ area students. TEDx Jackson Hole caps off Wild Fest events. JHWFF hosts free quarterly community screenings and partners with area school districts to provide digital media/storytelling instruction and equipment. Special programs target at-risk youth, including year-round collaborations with Arapahoe students (K-8)at the Wind River Reservation.

JH WILD on Tour aims to share the best wildlife, nature & science films from its film competitions to a global audience in free, educational screenings around the world. In partnership with the United Nations, US State Department, the American Association for the Advancement of Science, and more than 1000 embassies, universities, schools, libraries, NGOs and other film festivals, WILD on Tour screenings were presented to 21,000+ people in 60+ countries. In addition, JHWFF partnered with UN/CITIES to create the International Big Cats Film Festival, in association with World Wildlife Day, and with the US State Department to create Pest Fest--a film showcase focused on Vector Borne disease to broadly educate about prevention and mitigation practices.
