THE PURPOSE OF THE MARKET IS TO BUILD THE LOCAL FOOD COMMUNITY AND PROVIDE A VENUE FOR PRODUCERS TO SELL AND FOR PEOPLE TO ACCESS LOCALLY PRODUCED, FRESH, SEASONAL, HIGH QUALITY FOOD. THE PROGRAM BEGAN IN 2010 AND NOW RUNS WEEKLY DURING THE SUMMER AND FALL AND MONTHLY DURING THE WINTER AND SPRING. USDA SNAP BENEFITS ARE ACCEPTED. SLOW FOOD FARM STAND: SLOW FOOD IN THE TETONS OPERATES THE SLOW FOOD FARM STAND. THIS FARM STAND SELLS LOCALLY AND REGIONALLY GROWN PRODUCE FROM SMALL FARMS. THE GOAL IS TO PROVIDE A VENUE FOR FARMERS TO SELL HIGH QUALITY, NUTRIENT DENSE FOOD THAT IS NOT BEING SOLD IN OTHER GROCERS IN THE COMMUNITY. USDA SNAP BENEFITS ARE ACCEPTED.

EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS: SLOW FOOD TEACHES YEAR-ROUND, FARM-TO-TABLE COOKING CLASSES FOR KIDS, COOKING AND GARDENING SUMMER CAMPS FOR KIDS, AND ADULT COOKING AND TASTE EDUCATION CLASSES. CLASSES EMPOWER STUDENTS TO MAKE HEALTHY FOOD CHOICES AND UNDERSTAND THE VALUE OF A HEALTHY AND RESILIENT LOCAL FOOD SYSTEM THAT SUPPORTS HEALTHY PEOPLE, IS GOOD FOR THE ENVIRONMENT, AND BUILDS COMMUNITY. TETON SLOW FOOD GUIDE: THIS IS AN ONLINE EDUCATIONAL DIRECTORY OF LOCAL FOOD. THE PURPOSE IS TO PROVIDE A RESOURCE TO HELP PEOPLE ACCESS AND LEARN ABOUT LOCAL FOOD.

FESTIVALS AND DINNERS: SLOW FOOD BUILDS COMMUNITY BY BRINGING PEOPLE TOGETHER TO CELEBRATE FOOD, FOOD CULTURE, LOCAL AGRICULTURE, SEASONAL FOODS, AND THE SEASONAL HARVEST. THESE GATHERINGS INTRODUCE FARMERS AND RANCHERS TO COMMUNITY MEMBERS, PROVIDE WORKSHOPS AND SKILL BUILDING AROUND FOOD SYSTEMS, AND HONOR FOOD TRADITIONS AND FOOD WAYS.
