Organizations Filed Purposes: Uniting people, sharing resources, and improving lives in southwest Wyoming. We are working to advance the common good by focusing on education, health and basic needs. Our goal is to create long lasting changes that prevent problems from happening.

United Way of Southwest Wyoming awards grants to organizations that have measurable goals and outcomes that align with our education, health and basic needs initiatives that serves residents in Fremont, Lincoln, Sublette, Sweetwater and Uinta Counties, Wyoming. Workplace giving is the single largest area of support to the annual United Way of Southwest Wyoming Campaign. Donations are also received from corporations, small businesses and individuals.

United Way of Southwest Wyoming manages Dolly Parton's Imagination Library in Southwest Wyoming. This program mails a free, age appropriate book every month to children from birth to age 5 that live in Fremont, Lincoln, Sweetwater and Uinta counties. Currently 2,735 children are enrolled with 4,585 having graduated from the program. This is part of our education initiative to help children be kindergarten ready. The cost is about $35 per child per year, which is less than $3 a month. The Dollywood Foundation pays for the books. Our job is to raise the funds for the shipping of the books, promote the program and to maintain the database by registering children and approving on-line registrations. Funds are raised through grants, individual donations and special events like our annual golf tournament.

United Way of Southwest Wyoming manages Community Diaper Banks. Diaper need is the lack of a sufficient supply of diapers to keep an infant or toddler clean, dry and healthy. Diaper assistance is not available through Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) or Women Infants and Children (WIC). Through a partnership with the Foodbank of Sweetwater County, any family in need can receive one package of diapers per child during Food bank distributions days in both Green River and Rock Springs. In 2019, 76,468 diapers were distributed. In November, the Wamsutter Diaper Pantry was established. Families in need can get diapers from the Wamsutter Community Health Center during their open hours. Community diaper drives are also held to collect diapers for distribution. The Community Diaper Bank of Uinta County and the Community Diaper Bank of Bridger Valley are made possible with the help of volunteers who distribute diapers and partnerships with Uinta BOCES 1 and Lyman Town Hall. Diapers are distributed from these locations once a month. In 2019, 14,376 diapers were distributed at these locations. The Community Diaper Banks receive cash donations from grants, businesses and individuals. Local businesses and organizations also organize diaper drives that help keep the diaper banks stocked.
