THE CLINIC WAS OPEN 1 EVENING PER WEEK FOR 48 WEEKS DURING THE YEAR. 7 ADVANCED LEVEL VOLUNTEER PRACTITIONERS (MD'S, PA'S & LPN'S) AND 23 NURSES, EXAMINED 931 PATIENTS (175 NEW PATIENTS) AND (756 RETURN VISITS). IN ADDITION, 19 OTHER INDIVIDUAL VOLUNTEERS ASSISTED WITH FRONT DESK DUTIES AND SPANISH TRANSLATION.
THE COMMUNITY FOUNDATION OF JACKSON HOLE AWARDED A COMMUNITY IMPACT GRANT TO THE CLINIC TO BE USED TO SUPPORT THE CLINIC'S PILOT PROGRAM - MEDICAL MANAGEMENT FOR DIABETES IN TETON COUNTY. THE GRANT COVERED INSULIN COSTS, STIPENDS FOR MEDICAL CARE PROVIDERS DIRECTLY INVOLVED WITH THIS PROGRAM, ADMINISTRATIVE COSTS, AND INTERPRETATIVE SERVICES. PATIENTS WERE REQUIRED TO ATTEND CLASSES IN LIFESTYLE MODIFICATION SUPPORT AND SOCIAL NEEDS ASSESSMENT PROVIDED BY ST. JOHN'S HEALTH DIABETES EDUCATION GROUP. EARLY RESULTS SHOW IMPROVED PATIENT COMPLIANCE AND IMPROVED HEALTH.
