Organizations Filed Purposes: TO ENCOURAGE AND EVALUATE INNOVATION AND EXPERIMENTATION DESIGNED TO IMPROVE ALL ASPECTS OF COMMUNITY COLLEGE OPERATION, THROUGH THE ASSOCIATION OF A GROUP OF COMMUNITY COLLEGES.

PROVIDE GRANT-FUNDED RESEARCH FROM BOTH PUBLIC & NON-PUBLIC AGENCIES, CONFERENCES (CONT'D SCHED O) AND INSTITUTES. PUBLISH AN ELECTRONIC NEWSLETTER AND PROVIDE CONFERENCES FOR MEMBER AND NON-MEMBER COMMUNITY COLLEGES (UNITED STATES AND INTERNATIONAL) SERVING SEVERAL THOUSAND FACULTY, STAFF, ADMINISTRATORS, AND STUDENTS. EXTENSIVE EDUCATIONAL PUBLICATIONS DISTRIBUTED TO BOTH MEMBER AND NON-MEMBERS VIA PRINT AND ELECTRONIC MEDIA.

CONFERENCES AND INSTITUTES: THE LEAGUE HOLDS EVENTS TO PROVIDE FORUMS FOR MEMBERS, PARTNERS, AND NONMEMBERS TO DISCUSS CURRENT ISSUES FACING COMMUNITY COLLEGES AND SHARE THEIR INNOVATIONS AND BEST PRACTICES WITH COLLEAGUES; OPPORTUNITIES FOR INDIVIDUAL PROFESSIONAL AND LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT; AND VENUES FOR TEAM-BUILDING AND ORGANIZATIONAL DEVELOPMENT LEADING TO INNOVATIVE AND IMPROVED PRACTICE. IN 2019, THE LEAGUE HELD THREE EVENTS (INNOVATIONS CONFERENCE, LEARNING SUMMIT ARIZONA, AND EXECUTIVE LEADERSHIP INSTITUTE), WHICH INCLUDED 416 SESSIONS (400, 1 AND 15, RESPECTIVELY); THE TOTAL NUMBER OF PARTICIPANTS WAS APPROXIMATELY 1,604 (1444, 132, AND 28, RESPECTIVELY).

RESEARCH PROJECTS: BRIGHTER FUTURES 3.0, COLLEGES WERE SELECTED AND RECEIVED FUNDING BASED ON THEIR COMMITMENT TO SCALE THE RETAIL MANAGEMENT CERTIFICATE (RMC) PROGRAM IN THEIR SERVICE AREAS BY ADMINISTERING THE PROGRAM AND PROVIDING SERVICES AND INSTRUCTIONAL STIPENDS TO INCUMBENT WORKERS WHO SEEK TO EARN THE RMC INDUSTRY-DRIVEN CREDENTIAL. TWELVE (12) COLLEGES WERE SELECTED TO PARTICIPATE IN THE PROJECT. OVERALL, 2000 INDIVIDUALS ARE EXPECTED TO BE SERVED BY THE COLLEGE, RESULTING IN 1200 INCUMBENT WORKERS ENROLLING IN THE EIGHT, THREE-CREDIT COURSES LEADING TO THE RETAIL MANAGEMENT CERTIFICATE. IT IS ANTICIPATED THAT 600 INDIVIDUALS WHO BEGIN THE PROGRAM WILL EARN THE CREDENTIAL. ADDITIONALLY, THE COLLEGES WILL WORK VERY CLOSELY WITH RETAIL EMPLOYERS. IT IS ANTICIPATED THAT 48 (CONT'D ON SCH. O) EMPLOYERS--AN AVERAGE OF FOUR PER COLLEGE--WILL BECOME HIGHLY ENGAGED WITH THE PARTNER COLLEGES. SUBMISSION OF THE FINAL NARRATIVE AND BUDGET REPORTS TO THE GRANTOR WAS DONE IN 2019.

DISSEMINATION: THE LEAGUE PRODUCES PRINT AND DIGITAL PUBLICATIONS TO SHARE EFFECTIVE PRACTICES, RESEARCH AND PROJECT FINDINGS, AND COMMENTARY ON CURRENT ISSUES IN COMMUNITY COLLEGE EDUCATION. IN 2019, 3,623 PRINTED LEAGUE MONOGRAPHS AND MAGAZINES WERE DISTRIBUTED; 3,522 WERE COMPLIMENTARY AND 101 MONOGRAPHS WERE SOLD VIA THE LEAGUE'S ONLINE STORE. THE LEAGUE ANNUALLY AWARDS THE CROSS PAPERS FELLOWSHIP, WHICH SUPPORTS THE PRODUCTION AND PRESENTATION OF THE CROSS PAPERS MONOGRAPH. THE CROSS PAPERS SERIES FOCUSES ON TEACHING AND LEARNING THEORY AND PRACTICE, AND A MONOGRAPH IS PUBLISHED ANNUALLY FOR COMMUNITY COLLEGE FACULTY PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT. OF THE PUBLICATIONS SOLD, 96 (95 PERCENT) WERE THE CROSS PAPERS, NUMBER 22, DEVELOPING EXPERT LEARNERS: ADDRESSING FACULTY, STUDENT, AND SOCIETAL BIAS. IN ADDITION, COMPLIMENTARY COPIES WERE MAILED TO 406 LEAGUE BOARD AND ALLIANCE MEMBER PRIMARY CONTACTS AS A MEMBER BENEFIT AND 10 WERE GIVEN TO THE AUTHOR. THE MONOGRAPH IS FOR SALE IN THE LEAGUE'S ONLINE STORE AND AVAILABLE IN ISTREAM. IN 2019, THE LEAGUE PRODUCED A WINTER-SPRING ISSUE OF INNOVATUS MAGAZINE, SHOWCASING COMMUNITY COLLEGE INNOVATION IN TEACHING AND LEARNING, LEADERSHIP, STUDENT SUCCESS, AND WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT. COMPLIMENTARY COPIES WERE MAILED TO 1,757 COMMUNITY COLLEGE REPRESENTATIVES IN THE U.S. AND INTERNATIONALLY AND DISTRIBUTED TO THE 1,349 PARTICIPANTS AT THE 2019 INNOVATIONS CONFERENCE. THIS ISSUE OF INNOVATUS IS ALSO AVAILABLE ON THE LEAGUE WEBSITE. DIGITAL PUBLICATIONS WERE ANNOUNCED VIA THE LEAGUE'S E-NEWSLETTER TO AN AVERAGE MONTHLY SUBSCRIBER LIST OF 16,684. A TOTAL OF 5,041 PAGEVIEWS WERE RECORDED FOR 2019 MONTHLY PERIODICALS.
