We are committed to educating children with autism spectrum and related disorders utilizing the research-based methodology of applied behavior analysis. St. Dominic Savio Academy believes that every child, regardless of ability, has the right to an individualized and effective education in a setting where their dignity is upheld, and their unique strengths and interests are encouraged. SDSA is committed to honoring the dignity and particular strengths of each child while teaching skills that promote meaningful and lasting change for children and their families. St. Dominic Savio Academy will bring about meaningful and lasting change which will transform lives, families, and communities. Together with families and community, we aim for each student to reach their full potential. This will be accomplished through academic education, vocation training, and the development of life skills.
St. Dominic Savio Academy is committed to educating children with autism spectrum and related disorders utilizing the research-based methodology of applied behavior analysis.
St. Dominic Savio Academy's curriculum is taught utilizing the principles of applied behavior analysis (ABA), with full-time program direction by a Board Certified Behavior Analyst. Students are exposed to daily instruction in all academic areas including math, reading, and writing. They receive instruction daily in social and play skills, vocational skills, and daily living and self-help skills. In addition, all students have the opportunity to participate in music therapy, P.E., and art instruction weekly. For the calendar year of 2019, there were 36 students who were enrolled in these activities.
