THESE PROGRAMS HELP FAMILIES DEVELOP STRONG PARENTING SKILLS AND TO BUILD SAFE AND NURTURING ENVIRONMENTS.IN FISCAL YEAR 2020, 461 CHILDREN WERE SERVED.
FOSTER CARE & ADOPTION PROGRAMS (DCS): HCS RECRUITS, TRAINS, LICENSES, AND MONITORS FOSTER FAMILIES TO FOSTER MANY CHILDREN AT ANY GIVEN TIME WHO ARE WARDS OF THE STATE IN THE DES CHILD WELFARE SYSTEM. HCS ALSO CERTIFIES FAMILIES TO ADOPT CHILDREN LEGALLY THROUGH THE STATE OF AZ CHILD WELFARE SYSTEM. IN FISCAL YEAR 2020, HCS PROVIDED SAFE PLACEMENT IN CERTIFIED AND LICENSED HOMES FOR 222 CHILDREN.
