Organizations Filed Purposes:
To promote awareness of the importance and impact of the Arizona arts and culture to quality of life, educational excellence, and economic vitality, and to promote more public and private support for the arts and culture sector.
A year round statewide advocacy effort focused on educating community opinion leaders and elected officials about the importance and impact of nonprofit arts and culture on our state. Arts Congress is an education and advocacy event at the Arizona State Capitol every winter, featuring approximately 200 grassroots arts advocates from around the state. Our Arts Education and Outreach Initiative, which is partly funded by Americans for the Arts, is an effort to expand support for standards based arts education in Arizona schools. The Governor's Arts Awards is a 40 year old recognition program done in partnership with the Governor's office which recognizes individuals, organizations, businesses, and community groups for outstanding achievement in the arts and in arts support. Civic Engagement by arts supporters is a year round effort to educate arts supporters about public policy and elections, and to encourage them to become engaged for the purposes of promoting more support for arts issues.
