ACEE continues to be the only statewide economic education nonprofit organization offering financial and economic education professional development to K-12 teachers in Arizona. ACEE distinguishes itself and has been investing in teacher professional development for more than four decades. Each well-prepared teacher has a multiplier effect on hundreds of students every year.In 2020, working with our partners, ACEE offered 545 in-person, on-demand and virtual programs, reaching 233,100 K-12 students from 500 schools, 103 cities, and all 15 counties in Arizona. 64% of these students were from low to moderate income families severely impacted by the pandemic. ACEE's programs and services game them hope and opportunity to continue the learning of critical life skills in personal finance and economics. 2,218 K-12 teachers from all 15 counties received professional development from ACEE to teach personal finance, economics, social studies, math, science, and career and technical education. ACEE active volunteers increased by 8% receiving recognition in the community. 2020 has been a year that the ACEE overcame unprecedented challenges, maximized assets, transformed systems, and confronted our values. The global pandemic has revealed systemic financial vulnerability, economic inequity, and the increasing importance of financial and economic education. The community rallied around ACEE to continue supporting students, families and teachers in financial and economic education. ACEE and its partners created new learning opportunities for the students as well as the teachers, who yearned for connections and peer support during the pandemic. Working with our partners, ACEE provided a record number of programs serving low to moderate income communities and was invited to share innovative practices across the country. The social and emotional learning provided by ACEE throughout the pandemic has been a lifeline for many students and teachers in 2020.Please visit www.azecon.org for the 2020 annual report and stories.
