The Arizona YWCA Metropolitan Phoenix is dedicated to eliminating racism, empowering women, and promoting peace, justice, freedom, and dignity for all.
YWCA partners with Meals on Wheels to deliver a home delivered meal program in Glendale and El Mirage. We deliver over 82,370 home delivered meals annually. Through our Congregate Meals program, low income senior citizens of diverse ethnic and racial backgrounds receive a weekday meal through four locations in Glendale. On an annual basis, YWCA Senior Center provides over 24,505 congregate meals. When COVID-19 closed our Senior Center facilities, many of our congregate meal participants transferred to our home delivered meals. The We Feed Four Feet program provides pet food to home bound and disabled seniors for their furry companions. YWCA conducts over 1,245 health and nutrition programs, enrichment classes, general wellness, and socialization activities each year. In addition, YWCA provides more than 6,215 rides to seniors through our partnerships with Valley ride sharing programs. Due to the pandemic, our classes, socialization activites, and rides were all suspended in March.
