New Clothes New Beginnings Annual Distribution - Provided clothing, backpacks, and school supplies to over 5,000+ children from 135 area schools. The past few years of focusing on inventory reduction has proven successful as the organization's collective effort has reduced inventory from a high of over $300,000+ a few years ago to $22,000 as a result of our supply chain realignment moving to a just-in-time delivery of merchandise. While this reduces the organization's assets, it improves its program operating efficiency and reduces program expenses.Expenses do not reflect contributed facilites with an estimated value of $22,000 or donated dental services with an estimated value of $55,000.
Student Attire for Education (SAFE) - Provided clothing, backpacks, and school supplies to over 15,000 children at title I elementary schools through discounted sales to the schools. In 2020 BTSCD expects to launch an expansion of its successful SAFE Matching Grant program to include a Buy One, Give One strategy as an innovative way to broaden its individual donor base and ultimately help reduce the organization's annual merchandise related expenses.
Stitches of Love - Volunteers are used to sew various clothing items that are given to children who attend the annual clothing distribution.
