Organizations Filed Purposes:
DVEF's mission is to enhance and promote extraordinary educational opportunities in the Deer Valley School District (DVUSD). We accomplish this by providing grants, scholarships, awards, etc. to the teachers, students, and organizations within DVUSD.
Grants, scholarships, and awards: Dual enrollment tuition/scholarships/impact grants - 44 scholarships/grants to students from 16 schools for tuition, books, travel and fees.Grants to schools: Provided program grants to 4 schools. This was year 7 of DVEF's Battle of the Books Reading Incentive Program. 29 schools participated. Student participation increased from 640 students last year to 216 teams including more than 792 students this year! Thanks to this program, DVEF has not only donated over 2,000 books to school libraries, but has exposed students to reading genres that they would otherwise not have been interested in.Shelter and Food: Provided hotel lodging, food, fuel, and gift cards to 109 needy individuals.
