Fundraising, charitable contributions, and awarding scholarships

The Community Development Grantmaking program provides grant funding to non-profit organizations in the greater Phoenix area helping community members build self-sufficiency. Program grants range from $5,000 to $20,000 and benefit a variety of low- to moderate- income individuals. Programs funded include a workforce development program for those struggling to find employment, a micro-entrepreneur education and training program for underrepresented business owners, a health promotion and independent living program for those living with chronic health conditions and other physical disabilities, and mentoring and job training programs for vulnerable youth.

Scholarships are awarded to students displaying leadership through community service, academic excellence, and demonstrated financial need. Scholarships range from $2,500 to $10,000 for graduating high school seniors and adult learners (non-traditional students) attending 2- or 4- year colleges or universities in the state of Arizona. Scholarships are also awarded to low-income high school students pursuing certifications through career and technical education programs to cover program and certification fees, as well as equipment and supplies required for their programs.

Desert Financial Foundation is the primary financial supporter of the One Darn Cool School at Phoenix Children's Hospital. Children receiving services at the hospital are able to continue with their education and receive support to transition successfully back to their home school.
