Organizations Filed Purposes:
The mission of Diverse Ability Incorporated is to promote access, equality, inclusion, and the intersectionality of diversity, through peer based experiential learning, innovative person centered practices, and maximized collaboration efforts, designed to heighten knowledge, enhance skills, and foster individual life path planning and growth.
Arizona Youth Leadership Initiatives (AZYLI) includes Arizona Youth Leadership Forum (AZYLF), Arizona Youth Engagement Academy (AZYEA), and the AZYLI Alumni Association, which provide statewide peer based, person centered, mentoring, training, and support to youth and young adults who have disabilities who are navigating the process of transition to adulthood. In 2020, there were 30 graduates of AZYLF, 15 graduates of AZYEA, and a total of 211 AZYLI Alumni. Diverse Ability Incorporated provided training to countless youth, families, and professionals throughout Arizona and nationally, at a variety of conferences, workshops, and forums, collaborating with a myriad of partners in the process. Diverse Ability Incorporated responded proactively to the pandemic, by swiftly adapting to a virtual platform, and served in mentoring and consultative capacities for other Arizona and national partners who subsequently moved in this direction. In addition, Diverse Ability Incorporated implemented the Weekly Rap on AZYLI Fridays, an ongoing virtual connection opportunity for AZYLI Alumni Association, which features a monthly educational component. Diverse Ability Incorporated was written into the Arizona State Plan for Independent Living, through 2023, with responsibility for five objectives related to the growth and sustainment of Arizona Youth Leadership Initiatives.
