Organizations Filed Purposes:
TO FACILITATE THE DESIGN AND IMPLEMENTATION OF INTEGRATED STATEWIDE HEALTH INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY AND HEALTH INFORMATION EXCHANGE THAT SUPPORTS THE INFORMATION NEEDS OF ALL HEALTHCARE STAKEHOLDERS TO REDUCE HEALTHCARE COSTS, IMPROVE PATIENT SAFETY, AND IMPROVE THE QUALITY AND EFFICIENCY OF HEALTHCARE AND PUBLIC HEALTH IN ARIZONA.
HEALTH CURRENT IS THE STATEWIDE HEALTH INFORMATION EXCHANGE (HIE) IN ARIZONA THAT HELPS PARTNERS TRANSFORM CARE BY BRINGING TOGETHER COMMUNITIES AND INFORMATION. THE HIE CONNECTS THE ELECTRONIC HEALTH RECORD (EHR) SYSTEMS OF HEALTHCARE PROVIDERS, ALLOWING THE SECURE SHARING OF PATIENT INFORMATION TO BETTER COORDINATE CARE. SINCE 2007, WE HAVE WORKED TO BECOME ARIZONA'S PRIMARY RESOURCE FOR HEALTH INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY (HEALTH IT) AND EXCHANGE, INTEGRATING INFORMATION WITH THE DELIVERY OF CARE TO IMPROVE THE WELLBEING OF INDIVIDUALS AND COMMUNITIES.
TRANSFORMING CLINICAL PRACTICES INITIATIVE (TCPI) GRANT:TCPI IS A FEDERAL GRANT PROGRAM THAT WAS AWARDED TO HEALTH CURRENT IN 2015. THE PRACTICE INNOVATION INSTITUTE (PII) WILL PREPARE AND ENABLE 2,500 ARIZONA PROVIDERS FOR SUCCESSFUL PARTICIPATION IN VALUE-BASED, ALTERNATIVE PAYMENT ARRANGEMENTS. THE PII IS A PARTNERSHIP OF HEALTH CURRENT AND MERCY CARE PLAN.
HEALTH INFORMATION EXCHANGE (HIE) ONBOARDING PROGRAM:SUPPORTS THE PARTICIPATION OF ELIGIBLE MEDICAID PROVIDERS IN BIDIRECTIONAL HEALTH INFORMATION EXCHANGE THROUGH HEALTH CURRENT. THE PROGRAM PROVIDES AN ADMINISTRATIVE OFFSET PAYMENT IN RECOGNITION OF THE COSTS THE ELIGIBLE HIE PARTICIPANT HAS INCURRED TO COMPLETE BIDIRECTIONAL CONNECTIVITY WITH THE HIE.
EDUCATION & OUTREACH PROGRAM:SUPPORTS PROMOTING INTEROPERABILITY ACTIVITY, INCLUDING ELECTRONIC PRESCRIPTION OF CONTROLLED SUBSTANCES AND SUPPORTING PRESCRIPTION DRUG MONITORING PROGRAM, THROUGH EDUCATION ACTIVITIES AND WORKFLOW SUPPORT.
