THE FUERZA LOCAL PROGRAM PROVIDES BUSINESS EDUCATION TO LOW-INCOME, SPANISH-SPEAKING RESIDENTS AND GROWING LATINO BUSINESSES WITHIN SPECIFIC TARGET NEIGHBORHOODS TO SUPPORT NEEDED COMMUNITY BUSINESSES FOOD MARKETS, DAYCARE CENTERS, PLUMBERS, ETC.. ADDITIONALLY, THE PURPOSE EXTENDS TO PROVIDING NEW EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES FOR RESIDENTS WITHIN THESE TARGET NEIGHBORHOODS SO THEY CAN LIVE-WORK-PLAY WHERE THEIR FAMILIES ALREADY HAVE COMMUNITY TIES. LFAF HAS SERVED 134 MICRO-BUSINESSES IN 2019 WITH BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT WORKSHOPS AND OVER 3,000 COMMUNITY MEMBERS WITH EDUCATION AND OUTREACH RELATED TO BUILDING STRONGER NEIGHBORHOODS BY WORKING WITH THE SMALL BUSINESS OWNERS. THIS YEARS 132 GRADUATES FROM THE FUERZA LOCAL BUSINESS ACCELERATOR PROGRAM HAVE SHOWN THE FOLLOWING MEASURABLE RESULTS 107 NEW WEBSITES 119 FORMED AN LLC WHILE IN THE PROGRAM 128 TOTAL BUSINESSES NOW HAVE LLCS 102 NEW SOCIAL MEDIA PAGES WITH 219,813 FANS 91 FIRST-TIME CHECKING ACCOUNTS 11 FIRST-TIME LOANS APPROVED 109 NEW JOBS CREATED ESTIMATED NEW REVENUE GENERATED POST-GRADUATION 11,322,906.

THE LOCAL FOODS PROGRAM WORKS WITH AT-RISK AGRICULTURAL GROWERS AND FOOD PURVEYORS, AND THE SUPPLY CHAIN BUSINESSES THAT WORK WITH THEM, TO BUILD COMMUNICATION AND MARKETING SYSTEMS TO CREATE A STATE-WIDE ARIZONA NETWORK OF AGRICULTURAL RESOURCES AND PRODUCTS, ASSURING THE ABILITY OF OUR ARIZONA FARMS TO COMPETE WITH LARGER MORE SOPHISTICATED, AND USUALLY CORPORATE OUT-OF STATE, GROWERS. THESE SUPPORTS PROVIDE COMMUNITY LINKAGES, NETWORKING WITH FELLOW GROWERS, AND A COMMUNICATION SYSTEM THAT ALLOWS EVERYONE ON THE SUPPLY CHAIN TO SHARE INFORMATION REGARDING NEW OPPORTUNITIES, NEW PARTNERSHIPS AND NEW PRODUCTS THAT GROW EMPLOYMENT, COMMUNITY ASSETS AND ARIZONA AGRI-BUSINESS STABILITY.
