Organizations Filed Purposes: In partnership with the finest professionals in the dental community, Smiles and Beyond extends comprehensive dental services to the formally incarcerated, victims of domestic violence, sober and drug-free women and men. Recipients have been out of prison for at least one year. Smiles and Beyond gives its recipients not just a new smile, but a chance to help themselves.

Carefully vetted 21-24 participants to qualify for restoration of a healthy smile. Additionally, to maintain the ongoing recruitment and retention of a quality dental and lab professionals network; providing the best services to the sober and drug free, formerly incarcerated men and women, or survivors of domestic violence who are committed to turning their lives around. Smiles and Beyond is committed to maintaining its 0% recidivism rate. With a goal to treat at least 45 deserving recipients, the recruitment of dental and lab services remained of paramount importance. Successfully engaged a team of highly skilled dental and laboratory professionals, who provided in-kind dental services to our participants. Approximate $ value of dental services provided: $700,531.00 Approximate $ value of lab services provided: $25,000.

Despite the Covid-19 pandemic, Smiles and Beyond held a successful virtual event with a $ for $ matching grant from Foster and Lynn Friess. Again, BHHS Legacy Foundation chose to fund our programs in 2020. Smiles expanded its mission of providing the gift of restored smiles to women and men who have experienced domestic violence or incarceration and are committed to rebuilding their lives. By expanding our program to include domestic violence survivors, Smiles formed many meaningful partnerships for potential participant referrals with Valley nonprofits serving this vulnerable population. Smiles valued partnerships have been formed to refer potential participants to Smiles. These nonprofit organizations include: Maggie's Place, Umom, Sojourner Center, Star Fish ASU, Family Promise, A New Leaf, along with our longstanding partners who refer deserving formally incarcerated candidates, Alongside Ministries and Phoenix Rescue Mission.
