Southwest Kids Cancer Foundation is dedicated to providing exciting and fun, medically staffed, year round programs for children and families who have been affected by childhood cancer.
A free, one week camping experience in Payson, AZ for siblings of children who have cancer, ages 8 to 16. 122 kids attended. The Sidekicks program, the only program in AZ made specifically for siblings of cancer patients started in 1988. SWKCF recognized that these children have unique needs also, and deserved a program of their own.
A free, one week camping experience in Payson, AZ for children who have or had cancer, ages 8 to 16. 67 kids attended Camp Sunrise. Thanks to the generous donations and contributions, the facilities now include sleepover cabins, a fully equipped medical center, dining hall and kitchen. Our number one goal is to give the kids a normal camping experience in a setting that caters to their special medical needs. Some traditional camping activities offered, include archery, hiking, fishing, horseback riding,, arts & crafts and singing around the campfire.
3-day camping experience for both kids with cancer and their siblings. This retreat is a great shared experience, creating a strong bond between siblings, allowing them to escape and enjoy a weekend together. 40 kids attended.
