THE ORGANIZATION PROVIDES SUPPORT TO FAMILIES AND INDIVIDUALS RESIDING IN PROVERTY AREAS FROM PRENATAL TO HIGH SCHOOL AND SENIOR COMMUNITIES, AND ASSISTS IN REMOVING BARRIERS TO COMMUNITIES BY MATCHING NEEdS TO SERVICES.

HEAAL/Substance abuse prevention - HEAAL (Help Enrich African American Lives) Coalition envisions a population that stands apart as an icon of positive change and life enrichment, thereby reducing harmful epidemics that affect our community and embracing a life-long philosophy of healing and recovery. As a partner of HEAAL, the Organization facilitates and coordinates the efforts of community coalitions to prevent and reduce substance use among African-Americans youth and adults. The program entails assessing the needs of the African-American community as it pertains to substance abuse, assessing the resources of the community, and bringing likeminded community members together to utilize local resources to foster awareness and prevention.
Community Music - promotes the positive development of children and families through the study, practice and performance of music by providing the opportunity for students to participate in free after-school music classes and providing family engagement activities to build a strong sense of community. The program was offered at two school locations and two community centers during the year.
Children/Families:Family First - provides support services to parents of birth through 3rd-grade children. The program educates parents (including teen parents) on child development, behavior modification, health and safety and effectively managing educational choices.Seasoned Generation Program - provides access to information, resources, counseling, programs and service referrals appropriate for seniors residing in South Phoenix. The fastest growing segment of seniors served are grandparents raising grandchildren and seniors involved in kinship-care relationships. The Organization also provides case management for grandparents raising grandchildren.
