Organizations Filed Purposes: To preserve and protect open space, wildlife habitat, working agricultural lands and the scenic and cultural values of north-central Arizona for future generations.

In 2019, CALT completed two projects that resulted in the establishment of perpetual conservation easements on Coldwater Farm in Yavapai County and Frontiere at Rogers Lake in Coconino County. Coldwater Farm is a private parcel in Dewey-Humboldt, Arizona. The property (20-acres) was found to be a nesting/migratory stopover for two federally-listed bird species that depend on the lush riparian habitat along the Agua Fria River. Frontiere at Rogers Lake closed in May of 2019 with a conservation easement that will protect 75 acres of wetland habitat adjacent to the Rogers Lake County Natural Area. The acquisition of the Frontiere conservation easement was made possible with funding from the Army Compatible Use Buffer (ACUB) program. ACUB funding was allocated by the US National Guard Bureau to support Camp Navajo's program to acquire conservation easements that will buffer the base from incompatible uses. The 75-acre conservation easement is Phase I of a two-part acquisition. Additionally, in 2019, CALT took the lead on managing a federal grant for $1.75M to protect 900 acres of the Orme Ranch in central Yavapai County. These funds granted by the US Dept. of Agriculture, Natural Resource Conservation Service will be used to acquire a conservation easement to keep the ranch and farming operation intact and operating. Late in 2019, CALT entered negotiations with the Army Corp of Engineers, Prescott Creeks, and the City of Prescott to develop a conservation easement on 126 acres of the Watson Woods Riparian Preserve as required by the Army Corps of Engineers' In-Lieu Fee program. These project accomplishments and more were shared with CALT's supporters in our newsletter, For Lands' Sake, published in print and online in the spring and the fall of 2019.
