Organizations Filed Purposes: THE CENTER FOR RURAL OUTREACH AND PUBLIC SERVICES, INC. (CROPS) IS A GRASSROOTS NONPROFIT THAT WAS ORGANIZED IN 2004 TO EMPOWER INTERGENERATIONAL GROUPS OF PEOPLE AND ORGANIZATIONS TO WORK TOGETHER TO REVITALIZE RURAL AMERICA. OVER THE YEARS, CROPS' MISSION WAS REVISED "TO ALLEVIATE POVERTY IN AMERICA BY GROWING A NEW GENERATION OF LEADERS FOR THE FUTURE." NEARLY ALL CROPS PROGRAMS ARE FOCUSED ON YOUTH DEVELOPMENT, INTERGENERATIONAL LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT AND/OR COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT. CROPS PROVIDES TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE TO RURAL MUNICIPALITIES, URBAN COMMUNITIES, STATES, FEDERAL AGENCIES, NONPROFIT ORGANIZATIONS, NATIVE AMERICAN TRIBES AND NATIVE HAWAIIAN COMMUNITIES. CROPS OVERARCHING PURPOSE IS YOUTH-LED COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT.

CAPACITY BUILDING SERVICES FOR THE UTE MOUNTAIN UTE TRIBE PROVIDE LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT, TEAM DEVELOPMENT, PROBLEM SOLVING, PROGRAM DESIGN, STRATEGIC PLANNING, SOCIAL MEDIA CONSULTING, GRANTS MANAGEMENT, EVALUATION AND FACILITATION SERVICES FOR NUMEROUS FEDERALLY FUNDED GRANT PROGRAMS AWARDED BY HRSA, SAMHSA, USDA, DOJ, DOE, HIS AND MORE. IN 2015 CROPS ORCHESTRATED THE FIRST EVER UTE MOUNTAIN NATIVE NATIONAL PARTNERSHIP RETREAT THAT WAS ATTENDED BY 20 TRIBAL LEADERS, 20 NATIONAL PARTNERS AND 40 FEDERAL AGENCIES WHICH LED TO 63M IN NEW FUNDING TO BENEFIT 2,100 LOW INCOME MEMBERS OF THE TRIBE IN 6 YEARS. IN 2018 CROPS FACILITIATED THE COMPLETION OF A COMPREHENSIVE MASTER PLAN FOR THE UTE MOUNTAIN UTE TRIBE WHICH INCLUDES FIVE MAJOR INITIATIVES VALUED AT 20 MILLION. THE PLAN WILL BE UPDATED IN 2021, ALONG WITH THE DEVELOPMENT OF A COVID ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT RECOVERY AND RESILIENCY PLAN. DUE TO COVID-19, CROPS PROVIDED CAPACITY BUILDING SERVICES TO APPLY FOR AND RECEIVE OVER 5 MILLION IN EMERGENCY FUNDING FOR FOOD, MEDICAL AND CLEANING SUPPLIES, AND INTERNET HOTSPOTS.

CROPS YOUTH DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMS INCLUDED INTERGENERATIONAL LEADERSHIP TRAINING, ASSET BASED COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT, FILM MAKING WORKSHOPS, CO- PRODUCTION OF AWARD WINNING NATIVE YOUTH FILMS. THE FILMS HAVE OVER 5 MILLION VIEWS AND CAN BE SEEN AT: TOURDEUTE.ORG/WATCH. IN 2020 CROPS FACILITATED THE LAUNCH OF 1) THE UMUT STUDENT ARTS AND FILM INSTITUTE AND PRODUCED AN AWARD WINNING FILM ABOUT COVID RESILIENCY; 2) GROWING UTE LANGUAGE PRESERVATION PROGRAM TO CREATE AN ONLINE DICTIONARY, MOBILE APP AND PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT IN UTE; 3) A YEAR-ROUND AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAM CALLED PROJECT PEAK THAT PROVIDED STUDENTS AND PARENTS ACCESS TO A VAST ARRAY OF EDUCATIONAL CHOICES; AND 4) AN INDIGENOUS YOUTH LEADERSHIP PILOT PROGRAM FOCUSING ON YOUTH PASSIONS AND STRENGTHS TO ADDRESS COMMUNITY NEEDS.
