ADULT LIFE ENRICHMENT PROGRAMS: PROVIDING 189,300 HOURS OF RESPITE TO CAREGIVERS WHILE ENCOURAGING SOCIAL, PHYSICAL, AND COGNITIVE BRAIN HEALTH INTEGRAL TO SUCCESSFUL AGING. EACH PROGRAM'S UNIQUENESS ADDRESSES THE SPECIFIC NEEDS OF OLDER ADULTS LIVING WITH DEMENTIA, STROKE SURVIVORS, PARKINSON'S OR INTELLECTUAL AND DEVELOPMENTAL DISABILITIES. THE WEST VALLEY OF PHOENIX ARIZONA IS OUR SERVICE AREA. WE PARTNER WITH THE AREA AGENCY ON AGING, VETERANS ADMINISTRATION, ARIZONA DEPARTMENT OF ECONOMIC SECURITY, AND MANY OTHER ORGANIZATIONS TO MAXIMIZE OUR RESOURCES SO WE CAN ADDRESS THE NEEDS OF OUR LOCAL RESIDENTS. ALL FIVE OF OUR LIFE ENRICHMENT DAY PROGRAMS ARE (CONT'D ON SCH O) ACCREDITED THROUGH CARF (COMMISSION ON ACCREDITATION OF REHABILITATION FACILITIES), EXCEED THE EXPECTATIONS OF THE DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH SERVICES AND MAINTAIN BEST PRACTICES IN THE FIELD OF ADULT DAY SERVICES. EACH PROGRAM PROVIDES AN ALTERNATIVE TO INSTITUTIONAL CARE.

WIRTZIE'S CHILD DEVELOPMENT CENTER: THE WIRTZIE'S GOAL IS TO PROVIDE A COMMUNITY WHERE RELATIONSHIPS ARE BUILT AND EVERYONE CONTRIBUTES AND BELONGS. IN 2019 WE SERVED 180 CHILDREN, MANY OF WHOM ARE LOW INCOME, AND WE HELP EACH FAMILY FIND RESOURCES TO HELP PAY FOR QUALITY CHILD CARE. EACH CHILD WHO ATTENDS WIRTZIE'S HAS UNIQUE MENTAL, PHYSICAL, AND SOCIAL CHARACTERISTICS. BECAUSE EACH CHILD IS UNIQUE, THE WIRTZIE'S CURRICULUM IS DESIGNED TO FIND THE OPTIMAL BALANCE OF STRUCTURE AND FREEDOM FOR A CHILD'S PARTICULAR NEEDS. THE PROGRAM IS CERTIFIED RATED 4 STARS THROUGH QUALITY FIRST. OUR PROGRAMS ARE DESIGNED TO PROVIDE AGE-APPROPRIATE, CHILD-DIRECTED ACTIVITIES THAT WILL INSPIRE CHILDREN TO LEARN AND DISCOVER THROUGH PLAY AND THE SPARK OF THEIR OWN (CONT'D ON SCH O) NATURAL CURIOSITY. THE ARTS CENTER FOR ALL AGES IS A DEDICATED SPACE BETWEEN ONE OF OUR LIFE ENRICHMENT DAY PROGRAMS AND WIRTZIE'S PROVIDING STRUCTURED OPPORTUNITIES WHERE CHILDREN AND OLDER GENERATIONS COME TOGETHER TO GROW, LEARN ABOUT THEMSELVES AND OTHERS, AND FORM RELATIONSHIPS THAT CAN BE LIFE CHANGING. THE PROGRAM ALSO FEATURES A SENSORY GARDEN READING ROOM, AND PERFORMANCE STAGE.

FAMILY RESOURCE CENTER:THE FAMILY RESOURCE CENTER WORKS TO STRENGTHEN FAMILIES WITH CHILDREN FIVE YEARS AND UNDER. THE PROGRAM OFFERS CLASSES, EVENTS AND A LIBRARY OF COMMUNITY RESOURCES. OVER 5,400 FAMILIES SERVED INCLUDING GRANDPARENTS RAISING GRANDCHILDREN. THE SERVICE TERRITORIES INCLUDE THE NORTHWEST MARICOPA REGION INCLUDING GLENDALE, PEORIA, SUN CITIES, SURPRISE, EL MIRAGE, WADDELL, WITTMANN, WICKENBURG, MORRISTOWN AND AGUILA.
