Organizations Filed Purposes:
Administration, supervision, and sponsorship of college tennis tournaments, college rankings, coaches education, and convention as well as college tennis rules and regulations.
Other program income and expenses: Regularly the ITA hosts a series of events, including the ITA Arthur Ashe Leadership weekend in New York City, ITA David A Benjamin award induction ceremony in New York City, and hall of fame induction ceremonies.
National coaches convention and various tournaments. The ITA hosts an annual convention each December. The convention includes governance meetings by the association's board of directors and tennis operating committees, the presentation of the ITA coaches of the year awards, open forums for coaches, as well as informative and educational clinics (both on-court and in a classroom environment). The ITA also administers a year-round calendar of tournaments. One of the most visible programs administered by the ITA is the ITA regional championships where close to 8,000 men's and women's collegiate tennis players participate each year in over 90 regional events (24 for division I and approximately 60 for small colleges), which are hosted across the country throughout September and October. The ITA also presents a series of national championships for individuals as well as teams.
Awards program: the ITA administers a comprehensive awards program to honor and recognize men's and women's coaches and players in all divisions. The ITA awards program honors the following: ITA David A Benjamin achievement award, ITA meritorious service award, ITA Men's and women's collegiate halls of fame, ITA Arthur Ashe Jr Leadership & sportsmanship award, the Ann Lebedeff leadership award, Wilson/ITA coaches of the year, ITA national college players of the year, ITA collegiate all-star team, ITA scholar-athlete & all-academic team, Cissie Leary sportsmanship award, Rafael Osuna sportsmanship award, ITA national spring awards program, Wilson/ITA national promoter of the year award, Steve Wilkinson team sportsmanship award.
