To advance educational charitable and community goals by providing nonpartisan analysis of elementary and secondary education in AZ to improve public education in every community. Conducts research and provides nonpartisan information on all educational subjects in AZ.
SOSAZN has developed a robust collection of resources concerning the desperate plight of education funding in Arizona, and the investments needed to fully fund public education. With a particular focus on under-resourced communities, the Network has become a statewide authority on ways that funding is drained from public education budgets, and how structural inequities in funding formulas disadvantage poor, immigrant, Native American, and rural communities. Through presentations to community groups and conversations with a variety of constituencies and stakeholders, the Network has built a growing volunteer structure throughout Arizona.
