The Amphitheater Public Schools Foundation, Inc. Amphi Foundation promotes academic excellence through the expansion of resources that enrich the education, development and well-being of the students in the Amphitheater Public School District.
: In partnership with the Amphitheater Public School District, The Amphi Foundation was established in 1983 by educators and parents and later incorporated as a 501c 3 non profit organization. For the first 23 years the Amphi Foundations programs focused primarily on programs and services that helped make it possible for students to attend and participate in activities. In 2007, the Amphi Foundation embarked on its 21st Century Technology Initiative, which provides up to date technologies for our classrooms. This initiative has provided matching funding to purchase over 100 Smart Boards and 75 document cameras, and is now focused on providing laptops and 3D printers for student use in the classrooms. The Amphi Foundations Clothing Bank is housed in a 3,000 square foot building and is donation based and volunteer run. The Clothing Bank provides new socks & underwear and gently used and new clothing items to Amphi students in need throughout the school year. Grant funding is used to purchase new clothing items and donations of gently used children & teen clothing items are accepted from the community year round. In the 2016-2017 school year over 26,000 items of clothing were distributed by volunteers to Amphi students. In the 2016-2017 school year, the Amphi Foundation awarded a total of $10,000 in Classroom Mini Grants to teachers throughout the district. Teachers can apply once each semester for up to $500 to fund special projects, experiences for their students, and to purchase classroom equipment and materials. Academic Travel Stipends of $100 each are awarded to students travelling out of state for various academic competitions such as Odyssey of the Mind, We the People, Academic Decathlon, etc.
