By integrating Performing Arts Education programs and Musical Theatre productions, Arts Express opens up the world of the arts to all ages. It serves over 20,000 people annually through a continuum of introductory to advanced programming and engaging audience experiences. Programs range from youth workshops and camps to annual celebrations of Let Freedom Sing on July 4th and A Christmas Carol during the holiday season - plus large-scale musical theatre shows throughout the year. In addition to acting/singing/dancing instruction, Arts Express integrates 21st Century Skill development to maximize learning opportunities. students gain real-life skills in reading/comprehension (of scripts, diagrams, etc.), mathematics (used in set construction, budgeting, costume design, etc.), science (the physics involved in rigging set-pieces to be flown over the stage, the chemistry used for fog machines, etc.) and history (researching the setting of the storyline).
The mission of Arts Express is to build character, strengthen community and celebrate culture through the power of the performing arts.

This summer, our Monte Awards (National High School Musical Theatre Awards) was a livestream event and our Let Freedom Sing 4th of July event was a broadcast with local artists performing at various sites around Southern Arizona. Combined, those shows had over 2500 viewers! Our summer classes and camps have served over 100 kids using zoom and at-home video recordings that were creatively woven together to create singular musical theatre productions.
