Hospice patients and their loved ones are empowered to transform the end of life experience into the final act of living well. We accomplish this in the following ways To provide supplemental support for hospice patients and their loved ones. To educate the community about end of life care. To support research concerning end of life care.
To provide supplemental support for hospice patients and their loved ones, to educate the community about end of life care, and to support research concerning end of life care.
In 2019, we served many individuals by providing more than 60,000 in necessary items or services that werent covered by health insurance and couldnt be afforded by patients or their loved ones. Items and services provided included housing and utilities, transportation services, final arrangements, safety items and more.
Our educational efforts included the annual end of life conference which reached nearly 300 individuals and our Five Wishes advance directive booklet which reached an additional 8,000 recipients.
The Foundation supported the research efforts of non-pharmacological interventions for agitated patients with dementia. Data was collected on nearly 30 patients who were exhibiting disruptive verbal or physical behaviors yelling, pacing, aggression, etc..
