CONSERVATION: THE PROGRAM OVERSEES SEED PRODUCTION, GERMPLASM CONSERVATION, AND CULTURAL PRESERVATION AT THE FARM AND CONSERVATION CENTER. IN 2020, BETWEEN OUR TUCSON CONSERVATION CENTER FARM AND OVER 30 REGIONAL PARTNERS, WE PLANTED OVER 100 ACCESSIONS FOR REGENERATION. WE DISTRIBUTED NEARLY 7,300 FREE SEED PACKETS AS A PART OF OUR NATIVE AMERICAN SEED REQUEST, AND SERVED DOZENS OF COMMUNITY SEED GRANTS TO COMMUNITY GARDEN PROJECTS.
EDUCATION: FOR 2019-2020, OUR EDUCATION PROGRAMS INCLUDED THREE SCHOOL VISITS, INCLUDING THE AMERICAN INDIAN ART INSTITUTE, WASHINGTON AND JEFFERSON COLLEGE, AND DZIL DITLO'II IN SCHOOL OF EMPOWERMENT, ACTION AND PERSEVERANCE. STUDENTS WERE GIVEN TOURS OF THE FACILITIES AND TAUGHT THE BASICS OF SEED SAVING. THE CONSERVATION PROGRAM MANAGER ALSO PARTICIPATED ON TWO PANELS AT THE ORGANIC SEED ALLIANCE CONFERENCE AND GAVE A LECTURE FOR AN ONLINE COURSE FOR THE ORGANIC SEED ALLIANCE.
