SCULPTURETUCSON HELD THEIR SECOND ANNUAL SCULPTURE FESTIVAL SHOW & SALE DURING 2019. THE FESTIVAL IS A THREE-DAY PREMIER SCULPTURE SHOW WHERE COLLECTORS AND ART LOVERS CAN MEET LOCAL, NATIONAL, AND INTERNATIONAL SCULPTORS IN A BEAUTIFUL OUTDOOR PARK SETTING. $140,000 WORTH OF SCULPTURES WERE SOLD DURING THE 2019 EVENT AND SEVEN SCULPTURES WERE DONATED TO PIMA COUNTY.
SCULPTURETUCSON OFFERS EDUCATION PROGRAMS THAT FOSTER PUBLIC APPRECIATION OF SCULPTURE, GIVE LOCAL ARTISTS ACCESS TO PROFESSIONAL OPPORTUNITIES, AND PRESENT FORUMS FOR THE EXCHANGE OF IDEAS. THE ORGANIZATION OFFERS ART TALK SERIES, A SERIES OF INFORMAL CONVERSATIONS WITH ARTISTS DURING FESTIVAL HOURS. LOCAL ARTISTS ALSO LEAD HANDS-ON EXPERIENCES AT THE POST HOUSE FOR STUDENTS TO LEARN THE FUNDAMENTALS OF SCULPTURE-MAKING SUCH AS MODELING, CARVING, ASSEMBLAGE OR WELDING. ARTISTS CAN ALSO SHARPEN THEIR PROFESSIONAL SKILLS WITH PRACTICE CLASSES OFFERED IN WHICH STUDENTS LEARN ENTREPRENEURIAL STRATEGIES FOR SEEKING VENUES, HOSTING STUDIO VISITS, PROMOTING AND EXHIBITING WORK, INCLUDING DOCUMENTING ARTWORK, WRITING ARTIST STATEMENTS, AND MAKING A BUSINESS PLAN.
SCULPTURETUCSON'S "SCULPTURE-ON-THE-STREET" PROGRAM CONNECTS SCULPTURES AND BUSINESSES TO PLACE LARGE WORKS OF ART ALONG MAJOR ROADS IN TUCSON AND PIMA COUNTY.
