WELLNESS COUNCIL OF ARIZONA (WELCOAZ) STRIVES TO BE THE RECOGNIZED LEADER AND RESOURCE FOR WORKSITE HEALTH PROMOTION IN ARIZONA. WELCOAZ COLLABORATES WITH HEALTHCARE PROVIDERS, COMMUNITY LEADERS, BUSINESSES AND INSTITUTIONS TO IMPROVE THE HEALTH OF EMPLOYEES AND THEIR FAMILIES. WE BELIEVE THAT ADVANCING HEALTH INSIGHTS, LIFESTYLES AND SUPPORTIVE CULTURES ARE INVALUABLE TOOLS IN THE WORK PLACE.
TO PROMOTE WORKSITE HEALTH AND COLLABORATE WITH HEALTH CARE PROVIDERS, COMMUNITY LEADERS, BUSINESSES AND INSTITUTIONS TO IMPROVE THE HEALTH OF EMPLOYEES AND THEIR FAMILIES.
PROVIDED HEALTH MANAGEMENT PROGRAMS TO EMPLOYEES AND EMPLOYERS THROUGH THE HEALTH LIAISON PROGRAM. IN 2019, THIS PROGRAM CONDUCTED OVER 58,000 INDIVIDUAL HEALTH COACHING SESSIONS FOR 70 EMPLOYER GROUPS.PROVIDED MONTHLY NEWSLETTERS, HEALTH SCREENINGS AND ASSESSMENTS, EDUCATIONAL WORKSHOPS AND PRESENTATIONS, AND SUPPORT MATERIALS TO APPROXIMATELY 83 GROUPS.DURING 2019, WELCOAZ CONTINUED TO WORK WITH LEVELHEAD, A MULTI-MEDIA MINDFULNESS APP THAT UTILIZES GAMIFICATION TO MAKE MINDFULNESS FUN. WE PROMOTED WITHIN OUR EMPLOYER GROUPS TO HELP EDUCATE EMPLOYEES ABOUT REDUCING STRESS, BOOSTING CREATIVITY, AND RAISING PRODUCTIVITY.
THE VERIFIED BY WELCOAZ WEB PORTAL WAS STARTED IN 2016. IT PROVIDES INCENTIVE TRACKING, CHALLENGES, AND EDUCATIONAL INFORMATION.DURING 2019, WELCOAZ PROVIDED 1 EMPLOYER CHALLENGE FOR THE GREATER ARIZONA AREA CALLED THE ARIZONA 150 MILE DASH FOR CASH VIRTUAL CHALLENGE. ORGANIZATIONS AND INDIVIDUALS FROM ALL OVER ARIZONA COMPETED AGAINST EACH OTHER ON A VIRTUAL COURSE THAT SPANNED 150 MILES. PARTICIPANTS PAID TO PARTICIPATE THROUGH THEIR ORGANIZATION.
THE WELLNESS COUNCIL PARTICIPATED IN APPROXIMATELY 38 HEALTH FAIRS/EXPOS DURING 2019 WITH A TOTAL ATTENDANCE OF APPROXIMATELY 5,200 EMPLOYEES. THE SERVICES RENDERED INCLUDED FITNESS ASSESSMENTS, FOOD DEMONSTRATIONS, AND HEALTH AND WELLNESS INFORMATION ON WEIGHT LOSS, HEALTHY EATING, PHYSICAL ACTIVITY, STRESS REDUCTION, SELF-CARE, AND LIFESTYLE DISEASE MANAGEMENT.
