RESTORED 34 ACRES OF WETLAND AND RIPARIAN HABITAT AT YUMA ARIZONA'S WEST WETLANDS PARK, INCLUDING 1,500 LINEAL FEET OF NEW RIVERFRONT TRAIL, BUILT AN OUTDOOR EDUCATIONAL CLASSROOM, INSTALLED INTERPRETIVE SIGNAGE, AND COORDINATED A HUGE VOLUNTEER EFFORT, CULMINATING IN THE PROJECT BEING AWARDED THE PONDEROSA PINE PARTNERSHIP AWARD FROM ARIZONA DEPARTMENT OF FORESTRY & FIRE MANAGEMENT FOR EXCEPTIONAL URBAN FORESTRY PROJECTS INVOLVING MULTIPLE ORGANIZATIONS. THIRD YEAR OF IN-HOUSE OPERATIONS AND MAINTENANCE OF YUMA EAST WETLANDS (YEW). COMPLETED THREE MULTIPLE GRANT FUNDED PROJECTS AT YEW: 1) INSTALLED NEW IRRIGATION PUMP AND OVERHAULED ANOTHER PUMP, 2) RE-ESTABLISHMENT OF OVER 7 ACRES OF NATIVE HABITAT REPLACING A WILDFIRE BURN AREA. CONTINUED OPERATION AND MANAGEMENT OF TWO HISTORIC STATE PARKS/MUSEUMS WHICH ARE ELEMENTS OF THE YUMA CROSSING NATIONAL HISTORIC LANDMARK.
