Organizations Filed Purposes: THE CHESTER HISTORICAL SOCIETY (CHS) SEEKS TO PROMOTE AN INTEREST IN THE HISTORY OF CHESTER, CT AS A PROTOTYPICAL NEW ENGLAND SMALL TOWN THAT HAS SURVIVED AND THRIVED BY ADAPTING TO CHANGING CULTURAL, ECONOMIC AND DEMOGRAPHIC ENVIRONMENTS.

The Society operates a museum that is open on weekends during the summer and early fall with free admission. Each year there is a new exhibit on the first floor. This year the EXHIBIT FEATURED THE 50TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE CHESTER HISTORICAL SOCIETY AND ITS ACCOMPLISHMENTS.

The Annual Robbie Collomore Music Series (endowment program) held four concerts in the fall at the Chester Meeting House. The musical scope was classical, jazz, and blues. The success of these programs has required the hiring of a contractor to coordinate the operations of the concert series.
