GROUP SUPPORTED EMPLOYMENT PROGRAM (MERIDEN) - INDIVIDUALS WITH INTELLECTUAL DISABILITIES PERFORM ACTUAL PAID WORK AS PART OF A WORK CREW SUPPORTED BY A JOB COACH FOR THE DURATION OF THEIR WORK SHIFT WITHIN BUSINESSES OR ORGANIZATIONS IN THE COMMUNITY. PROGRAM PARTICIPANTS ARE SUPPORTED TO LEARN JOB SKILLS, TEAM COLLABORATION AND APPROPRIATE SOCIAL SKILLS FOR THE WORKPLACE. INDEPENDENT SUPPORTED EMPLOYMENT PROGRAMS (MERIDEN) - INDIVIDUALS WITH INTELLECTUAL DISABILITIES RECEIVE SUPPORT AND ASSISTANCE TO OBTAIN AND MAINTAIN COMPETITIVE COMMUNITY-BASED EMPLOYMENT, AND EARNING A MINIMUM WAGE OR BETTER. ONGOING SUPPORT IS PROVIDED TO THE PARTICIPANT, AS NEEDED, AND IS ALSO AVAILABLE TO THE EMPLOYER. OTHER PROGRAM SERVICES: OTHER VOCATIONAL AND EMPLOYMENT SERVICES ARE OFFERED TO INDIVIDUALS WITH DISABILITIES IN A NUMBER OF LOCATIONS AND WITHIN THE COMMUNITY. IN ADDITION TO THE AGENCY'S CORE VOCATIONAL SERVICES (LISTED ABOVE), SCHOOL-TO-WORK TRANSITION SERVICES, COMMUNITY BASED WORK EVALUATIONS, JOB PLACEMENT, AND TRANSPORTATION SERVICES ARE PROVIDED. ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA FOR SERVICES VARY BY FUNDING SOURCE AND/OR SERVICE LOCATION.

DMHAS & RUSHFORD-BASED PROGRAMS - PROGRAM PARTICIPANTS WITH PSYCHIATRIC DISABILITIES RECEIVE SUPPORT AND ASSISTANCE TO OBTAIN AND MAINTAIN COMPETITIVE COMMUNITY BASED EMPLOYMENT, AND EARNING A MINIMUM WAGE OR BETTER. JOB MATCHING, PLACEMENT, ONGOING RETENTION AND PEER SUPPORT ARE PROVIDED TO PARTICIPANTS; ONGOING SUPPORT IS ALSO AVAILABLE TO THE EMPLOYER.

WORK SERVICES PROGRAM (MERIDEN) - INDIVIDUALS WITH INTELLECTUAL DISABILITIES PERFORM ACTUAL PAID SUB-CONTRACT WORK FROM OUTSIDE VENDORS IN A SHELTERED ENVIRONMENT WITHIN THE AGENCY'S FACILITY. PROGRAM PARTICIPANTS ARE SUPPORTED BY ONSITE STAFF TO LEARN JOB SKILLS AND APPROPRIATE SOCIAL SKILLS FOR THE WORKPLACE.
