Organizations Filed Purposes:
To collect, preserve and arrange for presentation, availability and display of any and all records, memorabilia, artifacts and any other items of historical interest relating to the history of Pan American World Airways and its predecessor and affiliated companies in order to preserve and promote the Pan Am legacy.
The Foundation has funded a documentary on the airline's early years, up to and including the first commercial crossing of the Pacific Ocean. The documentary aired in 2019.
The Foundation publishes a newsletter three to four times per year to inform the membership of Foundation projects such as the production of a documentary, annual events, the search for a permanent home for its accumulated memorabilia of value, preparation of a traveling museum exhibit, and additions to the content and capability of www.panam.org with its increasing presence on social media.
The Foundation actively seeks opportunities to exhibit museum quality memorabilia in locations well know historically as Pan Am destinations, particularly New York, Miami and San Francisco. The Foundation also offers grants annually to researchers utilizing the airline's archives in the Richter Library at the Unversity of Miami.
