Canal Dock's annual Dragon Boat Regatta draws upwards of 200 participants. Many of them new to Dragon Boat racing.Local teens are introduced to the New Haven harbor and watersports during Canal Dock summer camp programs. Dozens of area residents participate in Canal Dock Community Day events that feature paddle boarding, rowing, and kayaking. Canal Dock has on-going partnerships with local public and private schools including Metropolitan Business Academy (Metro Boating), Canal Dock, Common Ground High School, Sound School, Notre Dame high school, as well as LEAP (Leadership, Education & Athletics in Partnership), a New Haven organization devoted to youth development.
