SUPPORT THE HCA AS AN ACTIVE PARTNER TO VET NEW EDUCATIONAL OFFERINGS, ENGAGE IN CONTINUOUS QUALITY IMPROVEMENT FOR ALL WORKSHOPS AND SESSIONS TO ACCURATELY REFLECT CURRENT EDUCATION AND EMPLOYMENT OPTIONS.

SPEARHEAD A STATEWIDE HEALTHCARE WORKFORCE DEMAND INITIATIVE TO SECURE WORKFORCE DATA FROM ALL CONNECTICUT PRACTICE SETTINGS BY 1) IMPLEMENTING A BEST-PRACTICE MODEL DEVELOPED BY WASHINGTON'S HEALTH WORKFORCE COUNCIL, 2) COLLECTING, ANALYZING AND PUBLISHING FINDINGS OF THIS STATEWIDE DATA BY: FACILITY TYPE, REGION AND ZIP CODE TO DEFINE WORKFORCE CHALLENGES, 3) IDENTIFYING THE CURRENT AND FUTURE DEMAND FOR NURSING AND HEALTHCARE ROLES ACROSS THE CARE CONTINUUM AND 4) PRODUCING OUTCOMES THAT WILL DIRECTLY INFORM ORGANIZATION AND HEALTHCARE FUNDERS REGARDING THE HEALTHCARE ROLES MOST IN NEED OF EXPANSION TO DEVELOP PROACTIVE EDUCATION AND EMPLOYMENT STRATEGIES; THEREBY MAXIMIZING THE IMPACT OF STATE AND FEDERAL DOLLARS WITHIN CONNECTICUT BY PRODUCING THE EMPLOYEES WHO ARE IN GREATEST DEMAND BY YOUR LOCAL EMPLOYERS AND IDENTIFYING TRENDS IN THE HEALTHCARE WORKFORCE TO SUPPORT FUTURE GRANT APPLICATIONS AND/OR INITIATIVES.

THE CONNECTICUT CENTER FOR NURSING WORKFORCE (CCNW) FACILITATES THE STATEWIDE ONLINE STUDENT CLINICAL PLACEMENT SYSTEM TO SUPPORT BOTH THE ACADEMIC AND PRACTICE SETTINGS WITH COORDINATING THE STUDENT PLACEMENT PROCESS FOR CLINICAL ROTATIONS AND CAPSTONE EXPERIENCES. THE SYSTEM STREAMLINES THE WORKLOAD OF MANAGING THIS COMPLEX PROCESS; AND BY HAVING ACUTE CARE PLACEMENTS PROCESSED THROUGH A SINGLE PORTAL, CONNECTICUT CAN BEGIN TO IDENTIFY THE ACTUAL CAPACITY OF HOSPITAL-BASED CLINICAL EXPERIENCES AVAILABLE TO OUR NURSING STUDENTS.
