The Mission of the Lockwood-Mathews Mansion Museum, a National Historic Landmark, is to preserve and restore this unique architectural treasure while enriching the community and the region through public programs that illustrate our nation's late 19th-century heritage and its significance to our own and future times.
The organization provides to the community and the general public an historic, educational and aesthetic resource by operating a landmark museum in a victorian mansion located in Norwalk, Connecticut.

Restoration and preservation of its structure and collections is part of the LMMM mission and provides an opportunity to illustrate late 19th century history, architecture, and the arts in a safe and engaging environment.
Museum exhibits provide education about historical culture and the arts to the general public.
