Organizations Filed Purposes: BASED ON THE SOCIAL TEACHINGS AND TRADITIONS OF THE CATHOLIC CHURCH, WE PROMOTE THE DIGNITY OF GOD-GIVEN LIFE IN SERVING HOMELESS PREGNANT AND PARENTING YOUNG WOMEN AND THEIR CHILDREN, OF ALL FAITHS, BEGINNING WITH A SAFE NURTURING HOME ENVIRONMENT. OUR RESIDENCE CAN HOUSE UP TO 10 WOMEN AND 10 CHILDREN AT ONE TIME. THROUGH OUR INTEGRATIVE FORMATIONAL PROGRAM OF SERVICES AND EDUCATIONAL OPPORTUNITIES, WE SUPPORT EACH FAMILY IN DEVELOPING SOCIALLY, INTELLECTUALLY, PHYSICALLY, ECONOMICALLY, EMOTIONALLY AND SPIRITUALLY SO THAT THEY GAIN SELF-CONFIDENCE, SELF-RESPECT, SELF- SUFFICIENCY, AND INDEPENDENT-LIVING SKILLS AS NEW PARENTS.

MALTA HOUSE PROVIDES HOMELESS PREGNANT AND PARENTING WOMEN AND THEIR CHILDREN WITH SOCIAL SERVICES SUPPORT; ON-SITE HOUSING OR FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE FOR OFF-SITE HOUSING; CHILD CARE; EDUCATIONAL OPPORTUNITIES FOR EMPLOYMENT; AND PARENTING AND INDEPENDENT-LIVING SKILLS TRAINING.

RESIDENTIAL PROGRAM: IN FISCAL YEAR 2019-2020, MALTA HOUSE SERVED 20 WOMEN AND THEIR BABIES WITH HOUSING, CHILDCARE, CLOTHING, FOOD, AND BABY SUPPLIES. IN ADDITION, WE PROVIDED SUPPORT FOR SOCIAL SERVICES, SUPPORT FOR EMPLOYMENT AND EDUCATIONAL PLACEMENT, AND HEALTHCARE ADVOCACY. EACH RESIDENT PARTICIPATED IN OUR INTEGRATIVE FORMATIONAL PROGRAM THAT PROVIDES IN-HOUSE EDUCATIONAL OPPORTUNITIES IN: PERSONAL AND LIFE SKILLS; WORKPLACE PREPARATION; PARENTING AND CHILD DEVELOPMENT; AND HEALTH AND WELLNESS. WE ALSO OFFER IN-HOUSE INDIVIDUAL MENTORING, PASTORAL CARE, AND COUNSELING SERVICES. FINANCIAL SCHOLARSHIPS FOR COMPLETION OF A TRADE OR COMMUNITY COLLEGE CERTIFICATE PROGRAMS WERE AVAILABLE. UPON GRADUATION RESIDENTS ARE MORE COMPETENT TO LIVE INDEPENDENTLY AS NEW PARENTS.

PARTNERING FOR SUCCESS: IN FISCAL YEAR 2019-2020, MALTA HOUSE PROVIDED 17 FORMER RESIDENTS WITH ONGOING SUPPORT FOR SOCIAL SERVICES, AND HEALTH AND LEGAL ADVOCACY, IN ADDITION TO FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE FOR HOUSING, CHILDCARE, AND EDUCATIONAL OPPORTUNITIES. ALL FORMER RESIDENTS ARE WELCOME TO PARTICIPATE IN ALL CLASSES PROVIDED IN HOUSE TO OUR RESIDENTS IN ADDITION TO COUNSELING AND PASTORAL CARE SERVICES. OUR CLIENTS CONTINUED TO GROW IN CONFIDENCE, COMPETENCY, AND SELF-RELIANCE.

COMMUNITY OUTREACH: IN FISCAL YEAR 2019-2020, MALTA HOUSE SERVED 1,000 NEEDY FAMILIES FROM THE SURROUNDING COMMUNITY FROM OUR BABY PANTRY THAT IS STOCKED WITH DONATED ITEMS. FAMILIES WERE OFFERED EXCESS BABY FOOD, DIAPERS,BLANKETS, SUPPLIES, BOOKS, TOYS, AND OTHER NECESSARY BASICS SUCH AS WOMEN'S CLOTHING.
